Some Background

I have been avidly watching and following the news and politics for over 30 years now. Over this time, I have witnessed the extreme corruption of governments, corporations, and high-powered, elite individuals go mostly unpunished. All too often, the worst offenders not only face zero consequences, but they are, in many ways, rewarded for their heinous acts. Others get a mild "slap on the wrist" and return to committing the same crimes or worse.

Politicians enrich themselves at the cost of their constituents. Governments grant themselves and their chosen players immunity while aggressively prosecuting any unconnected individual or group. Corporations regularly release products to the public that they know are toxic, while their insiders in government run cover. Elite individuals and families with the right connections can circle the globe to enrich their holdings in ways that would put the average person in prison.

I've watched all of this and so much more for decades. But, one afternoon, while watching another "go nowhere" update about an investigation into a known international PDF file [P*do] child trafficker, I had a thought.

A Spark Of Inspiration ...

I started to play the "what if ...?" game in my head. What if this or that happened? What if the actual, ugly, factual truth were exposed for all to see? What if there were people with the skills to make it happen? How would/could it come to pass?

After running dozens, if not hundreds, of scenarios through my head, I came to the conclusion that it would have to be a revolution or rebellion. Not some bogus, astro-turf creation from a secretive government agency, but a real network of players that had the skills, connections, personal motivation, and ambition to acquire the proof and expose the truth.

Who would these people be? What would they be called? What are their backgrounds, personal reasons, and motivations to want to risk their lives to burn down these corrupt power structures? How would they execute their plans?

As all these questions and scenarios played out inside my cranium, I began a search for an appropriate name. After all, all great movements need a great name. I searched through variations and synonyms for revolution, rebellion, and any other applicable terms I could think of. I searched in multiple languages, and ultimately landed on "Rebellatio."

Rebellatio Is Born

In Latin, Rebellatio means "resumption of hostilities, renew war, or revolt." It had a good ring to it. It applied to the overall concept. And, Rebellatio looks pretty cool when typed in blood-red text.

Why would a new group fighting and exposing corruption have a name that means "resumption of hostilities, or renew war?" Quite simply, there have been many who put up a fight before Rebellatio, but most, if not all, have ultimately been defeated in the long run. So, the fight for truth and holding the guilty accountable must be resumed. This is not a new fight, but one that has been waged for millennia.

Let's use the United States as an example. 250 years ago, a small group of people decided they would no longer be ruled by a corrupt king in a foreign land. They started a movement, and with just three percent of the people in the founding colonies taking up arms, they won the war and changed the course of history.

But, as fast as the U.S. was created to be a country with an accountable, representative government like the world had never seen before, dark forces were already at work. Power players were scheming, infiltrating, and conspiring to enslave the U.S.. It took a couple of centuries, but look at the U.S. now, chock full of corrupt politicians, corrupt, unaccountable agencies, corrupt companies and corporations, a corrupt monetary system, ever-growing mass surveillance, and individual rights and liberties under attack.

What's The Next Step?

So, I had an idea. I had an overall concept. But, how do I make this reality? I don't have a big Hollywood budget. I don't have any experience writing screenplays. I don't have TV or movie connections.

This was an idea that needed research, idea development, storyline development, and technology advances to help make it reality.
